Pedestrian and Bicycle Counts

What are Pedestrian and Bicycle Counts?

Equally as important as understanding the movement and flow of vehicles is the understanding of how people and bicycles move. The surveys are carried out in a similar way to that of vehicle counts, but generally in pedestrianised areas.

The data is presented in an easy to read excel format.

Common Uses:

-
To ascertain the volume of pedestrians/bicycles using a pathway.
-
To identify the location of unofficial crossing points at highways in order to place safer measures for pedestrians.
-
To understand how pedestrians and bicycles interact on mixed pathways.
